The <b>M5 filter<\/b> captures around 60% of particles up to 10 microns, including pollen, mould spores, coarse dust and cement dust. It cleans the air extracted from your rooms before it passes through the heat exchanger. The <b>F7 filter<\/b> captures around 55% of very fine particles as small as 1 micron, including bacteria, smog, tobacco smoke particles, combustion dust, spores and wildfire smoke particles. It cleans incoming outdoor air before it enters your home.<\/p>\n<h2>Usage and maintenance<\/h2>\n<p>Zehnder recommends replacing the <b>filters every 6 months<\/b> to keep air quality and system performance at their intended level. Otherwise check the filters by eye \u2014 if they look heavily soiled or clogged, replace them.<\/p>\n<h2>About Enervent and manufacturing quality<\/h2>\n<p>Enervent is a Finnish ventilation manufacturer based in Porvoo, where it has built heat recovery units for over 40 years.
